I will comment both statements in this text.
I obviously agree that learning other people's languages will increase our knowledge about their culture. That is obvious if you consider that several words from a language cannot be translated to your language and keep their meaning.I mean, if you learn a language you will be perfectly capable of understanding every aspects of it, not only in a superficial way, but the exact meaning and a deep perception as well.That's why language is the main factor of the culture.About my school role in this topic, I believe it doesn't bet much on the ethnic diversity and this could be improved significantly by joining students exchange with other countries. Nevertheless, my learning at school about other cultures and languages hasn't been bad because some teachers have the caution of approaching this topic.
